200-meter bobbin of 100% polyamide thread, non-elastic, see-through
For a beautiful finish on solid or patterned fabric, you can use this thread to create an invisible hem without any special technique. This invisible hem thread can be used both by hand and with a sewing machine. If your sewing machine doesn't offer the invisible hem stitch, or if you don't like this technique, this thread will make it easier for you to create very discreet hems.
Why make an invisible hem?
Sometimes a hem draws the eye to the bottom of a garment. It can also be difficult to find a thread that will blend into the fabric. Finding the same shade is often difficult, and a similar shade may not be elegant enough for the desired result. When the fabric has a busy pattern, finding a thread that blends into the design can be just as complex, and doesn't necessarily achieve the desired result. Furthermore, depending on your pattern or design, a hem can be made close to the hemline or quite far out. This can add to the drop of the garment, but can also draw the eye away from an undesired detail. This thread is also ideal for invisible bias seams on the right side of the garment.
To sew an invisible hem with this thread on a sewing machine, start by making a bobbin. Install the rest of the thread in the bobbin winder and thread the needle. Remember to check that the needle and tension are suitable for the thread and fabric you're sewing. Do a test on a scrap piece to make sure all is well.
To use this thread for hand sewing, simply select the needle corresponding to the thread and fabric to be sewn. Thread the needle and sew in running stitches, or backstitch for greater strength.
Polyamide is a heat-sensitive material. Set your iron to synthetic or gentle heat, and don't insist on the seams.
This thread can also be used to sew beads discreetly onto fabric, one by one. This thread can also be used to attach fasteners to jewelry.
